STIR Greenville opened June 9, bringing with it artisanal ice, seafood and a raw bar.

The restaurant opened across from Yee-Haw Brewing Co. at 214 E. McBee St. in downtown Greenville. The 6,000-square-foot restaurant is located inside the 300 E. McBee development with a 400-seat capacity and lunch, dinner and weekend brunch hours. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating for alfresco dining at tables and at the bar.

On June 5, the restaurant held a special lunch to give a first look at the menu.

We tried the lobster crab cakes and seared tuna salad. The favorite of the two were the lobster crab cakes, comprising both lobster and lump crab meat sitting atop a bed of caper remoulade, arugula and lemon oil. The lemon oil was an unlooked-for-but-complementary addition to the dish, given the natural offset of the citrus to the briny flavors of the crab and capers.

For those who visit and crave a little more than a bite to eat, consider grabbing a cocktail. One of the draws of the Chattanooga, Tennessee-based eatery is its hand-cut ice. Each piece is specially carved for each cocktail.
