The Greenville Humane Society now offers dog training.

The training classes are divided into four legs, addressing different behavioral necessities for dogs:

  • AKC STAR Puppy Class is a six-week class for pups 4 to 12 months old. The class focus on basic training, socialization and activity. The class also targets fur parents by teaching responsibility in ownership and results in a certificate. The course cost is $150.
  • Brick House Basics Class is a six-week course divided into two levels that target basic commands, positive reinforcement, distraction training and confidence building. The class is designed for dogs 6 months and above but is more suitable for 1-year-old dogs. The course cost is $150.
  • Private behavior sessions are individually focused classes taken in-home or remotely. The classes are geared toward dogs that exhibit anxiousness, hyperactivity or aggressiveness. Classes are led by a certified behavioral consultant who designs a tailored modification plan for the dog, incorporating its history and behaviors. Initial consultation fee is $225 with ongoing 60-minute classes priced at $125 each. New clients must begin with an initial consultation.
  • Private training sessions target similar values to the Brick House class, but are in a personal setting rather than a group setting. The nonprofit’s enrichment team will design a training plan considering both the dog and its family. Classes can be held remotely, at home or on the Humane Society premises. The initial consultation fee is $125 with ongoing 60-minute classes priced at $90 each. New clients must begin with an initial consultation.
