
Carolinian Debutante Club annual Mother-Daughter Tea
The Carolinian Debutante Club introduced the 2025 debutantes on Saturday, May 17th at the annual Mother-Daughter Tea held at the Greenville Country Club. The 13 young women who will be presented at the 56th annual winter ball on December 19th at the Poinsett Club are as follows:
Miss London Elise Chastain, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brent Rogers Chastain, is a student at Clemson University. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Roger William Chastain and the late Mr. Chastain of Greenville, Sustaining Members of The Carolinian Debutante Club, and Dr. and Mrs. Alton Denny Smith of Seneca.
Miss Amelia Bailey Creech, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Herbert Marion Creech, is a student at Clemson University. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Leonard Roger Detuelo and the late Mrs. Shan Watson Friddle of Greenville, and Mrs. James Edward Creech and the late Mr. Creech of Greenville, Sustaining Members of The Carolinian Debutante Club.
Miss Murray Elizabeth Freedman, daughter of Doctors Kathryn Repass and Louis Allen Freedman, is a student at the University of Georgia. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Scott Repass, senior, of Roanoke, Virginia, and Doctors Sandra Newton and Murray Allen Freedman of Augusta, Georgia.
Miss Georgia Claire Freeland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Chastain Freeland, is a student at Furman University. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Thomas Wilson Morrow and the late Mr. Morrow of Greenville, Sustaining Members of The Carolinian Debutante Club, and Mr. and Mrs. James Ralph Freeland of Greenville.
Miss Eliza Catherine Guthrie, daughter of Ms. Emily Catherine West and Mr. David Edward Guthrie, junior, is a student at Wofford College. She is
the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Shirley West of Greenville, Sustaining Members of The Carolinian Debutante Club, and Mrs. David Edward Guthrie, senior, and the late Mr. Guthrie of Greenville. Mrs. Charles Shirley West is a past president of the Club.
Miss Avery Hampton Howard, daughter of Ms. Jenna Henson Howard and Mr. Joshua Lyle Howard, is a student at Wofford College. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Avery Henson, junior, of Greenville, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gardner Howard of Easley.
Miss Perrin Mackinley Howle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Graham Riddle Howle, senior, is a student at Clemson University. She is the granddaughter of Ms. Donna Valentine Perrin of Saint Simons, Georgia, and the late Mr. Alfred James Perrin of Melbourne, Florida, and Ms. Jessica Riddle Curlee and the late Mr. Paul Williams Curlee of Greenville, and the late Dr. Jerry Albert Howle of Reno, Nevada.
Miss Jane McLaurin McDonald, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edgar McDonald III, is a student at Clemson University. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Morgan Todd Milford, junior, and the late Dr. Milford of Greenville, Sustaining Members of The Carolinian Debutante Club, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edgar McDonald, junior, of Greenville.
Miss Caroline Vera Mitchell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Paul Mitchell, junior, is a student at Wofford College. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Eugene Miller of Anniston, Alabama, and Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Paul Mitchell of Greenville, Sustaining Members of The Carolinian Debutante Club. Mrs. Sidney Paul Mitchell, junior, is a past president of the Club.
Miss Sarah Foster Pitts, daughter of Ms. Sarah Coble Pitts and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald David Pitts II, is a student at the University of Mississippi. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Charles Joseph Coble and the late Mr. Coble of Greenville, Sustaining Members of The Carolinian Debutante Club, and Mrs. Allen Jervey Inglesby and the late Mr. Inglesby, all of Greenville.
Miss Julia Mandell Price, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Thomas Price, is a student at Clemson University. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Charles Sharpton of Pawleys Island, and Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Franklin Price, junior, of Hendersonville, North Carolina.
Miss Anna Foster Smith, daughter of Ms. Suzanne Foster Hagins and Mr. Brooks Alexander Cobia Smith, is a student at the University of South Carolina. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. John Argis Hagins, junior, and the late Mr. Hagins of Greenville, Sustaining Members of The Carolinian Debutante Club, and Ms. Carole Anne O’Neal and Mr. Charles Joseph Smith of Charleston.
Miss Barbara Olivia Wilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Norris Wilson, is a student at the University of Virginia. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. John Whitehead Motley and the late Mr. Motley of Chatham, Virginia, and the late Mrs. Philip Pendleton Wilson and the late Dr. Wilson of Danville, Virginia.
Mrs. James David Cowart is the president of The Carolinian Debutante Club. Other officers are Mrs. Bruce Wyche Bannister, president-elect; Mrs. Wadley Raoul Glenn, recording secretary; Mrs. Willie Mears Howard, assistant recording secretary; Mrs. Robert Eugene Etheridge, junior, corresponding secretary; Dr. Kathryn Repass Freedman, treasurer; Mrs. Bryan David Feldman, ball chair; Mrs. Samuel Browne White, junior, social chair.
Board members are Mrs. Lee Andrew Scroggins III, Mrs. Milton Ariail Lowder, Mrs. Thomas Claiborne Mardre III, Mrs. William Sinton Cobb, Mrs. Lane Whittaker Davis, and Mrs. Andrew John Theodore. Mrs. Sidney Paul Mitchell, junior, is the ex-officio member of the board.
