Here is a recap of the Travelers Rest meeting on May 15.

Initial approval: $9.25M 2025-2026 fiscal year budget

Council approved the city’s more than $9.25 million operational budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year.

The budget highlights include:

  • Three new full-time employee positions – a firefighter, a police officer and an administrative specialist
  • A new fire truck, two new police Tahoes, service bed for Public Works pick-up truck and RTV for trail maintenance
  • Police cameras, body armor, dispatch chairs, an evidence refrigerator and increased training
  • Fire air tank fill system
  • $40,000 façade improvement grants

This item will go before the City Council for initial approval June 18.
