YMCA of Greenville raises $1.6M in 2025 campaign
YMCA of Greenville raised more than $1.6 million during its 2025 annual campaign.
The campaign allows the local nonprofit organization to financially assist individuals who otherwise could not pay for the YMCA’s memberships and programs. Scholarships will be provided to children, adults and families for wellness memberships, youth sports programs, swim lessons, afterschool care, summer day camps and more.
Sam Franklin, president and CEO of the YMCA of Greenville, said the funding will allow the organization to serve around 3,500 people in 2025. The fundraising total was announced at a celebration event held May 13 at the 500 Club at Fluor Field.
“For us, the need continues to grow,” Franklin said. “This past year, we raised over $1.5 million, but we gave away about $1.8 million. This year we set (our goal) at $1.6 million, and I’m sure we’ll probably give away a little bit more than that.”
The YMCA of Greenville has raised more than $16 million for the annual campaign over the past 16 years. MaryEllis Petrosian, the organization’s chief development officer, explained that every dollar matters to help the YMCA change lives.
“Being ‘for all’ is what defines the YMCA of Greenville,” Petrosian said. “We’re not only helping people who want to come to the Y; we’re also helping people outside our walls, and we want to reach even further.”
