The city of Greenville plans to celebrate Independence Day a little early this year.

The Clemson MBA Fireworks at Unity Park will take place on July 3 from 6 to 10 p.m. The fourth annual fireworks show will begin at 9:30 p.m.

Residents and families can enjoy live music starting at 6 p.m. The Commons and Pangea will be open for business during the event. Eight food trucks will also be parked along Maryberry Street, including:

  • DonutNV
  • Uncle Luke’s
  • Mexican Delights
  • G-Rod’s Latin Fusion
  • J&S Wings 2 Go
  • One Dessert Place
  • Vampire Penguin Powdersville
  • Sky Cream Ice Cream and Concessions Common Pops

Road closures for the event will begin at 3 p.m. around Unity Park. The Hudson Street bridge will also remain closed. Police officers will be stationed at the major intersections near Unity Park and downtown to help with traffic flow.

Attendees are encouraged to use the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail to walk to Unity Park from downtown due to limited parking. The trail will be temporarily closed at approximately 9:50 p.m. for 15 to 20 minutes as a safety precaution after the fireworks show.

Smoking, alcohol, firearms and pets are not permitted at the event. The city also asks attendees not to bring tents, umbrellas and other items that could block people’s view of the fireworks.
